Kona Wah-Wahs
July 15, 2008Published by samnationREVIEW-- I bought these on a whim and now I'm going to let you all know how they feel and if they were worth it.
I went to the shop with no intention of coming out with pedals but for $79.99 Canadian I thought these were a pretty good deal. Just playing with them when I got home I loved them. Kona has used an interesting bearing setup with a cartridge to start then needles that run the length with a bushing on the end keeps them small and smooth. Bolting them on was no issue the 6mm Allen wrench hole in the axle made that really easy. I've owned both Kona Jackshits and Jackshit Primos and as soon as I sat on these I dubbed them better than both your feet feel glued without having ridiculously long pins or a bulky body. On the first ride they were amazing I never once felt like my foot was going to slip or even move, simply golden. While riding I was able to bash the bottom of the pedal off of logs, rocks and roots and not slip off. Possibly the best part of these is the look they are super sleek and slim at just 17mm cool stenciled KONA graphic and they come in WHITE! The only fault I could find in these pedals is that due to the shape and size of the pedal it collects mud fairly easily. For the price I would highly recommend these pedals they feel great and perform just as well. I'm super happy with mine and I think you would be too. For platform pedals look no further than the Wah-Wahs, a real winner. After a ride- -Enjoy, Sam |
